St. John’s has its own distinctive navy and gold uniform which the children enjoy wearing with pride. We believe that besides being practical for school, a smart uniform:
- Fosters a feeling a of community and belonging;
- Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of their appearance;
- Sets a high standard of appearance for all, whilst clothing pupils in practical, cost-effective school wear.
We expect all clothing worn in school to adhere to the school colours of navy blue, gold, grey and white.
- Shirts need to be tucked into trousers and skirts.
- Shirt top buttons need to done up.
- Ties should be tied with a medium sized knot.
- Shirts must not be open neck.
- Coats and jackets should be of a dark colour and without logos.
- If wellies are worn for the journey to school, they must be replaced by school shoes on arrival.
Please remember to clearly label every piece of school uniform and P.E. kit with your child’s name using a sew-in/adhesive label or a permanent pen. We advise you to purchase a navy/black drawstring bag to keep all P.E Kit items together for your child to hang on their peg at school. St. John's drawstring bags can also be purchased from the school office. Coats, scarves, hats and gloves should also be named.

- Plain white t-shirt or house coloured t-shirt

- Plain navy tracksuit
- Trainers - velcro-fastening trainers are suggested for children who cannot yet tie laces independently
P.E. kits must be unbranded and without logos and can be obtained from major supermarkets and other retailers.
