Governor - Tim Holmes

Hello What’s your name?

Tim Holmes

What do you do on the Governing Body ?

I am currently Chair of the Expansion and Premises committee that looks after the school building and which has focus on school expansion

Why did you become a Governor at St John’s ?

I look back on the very happy times I had as a pupil at St John’s and wanted to use the skills and experience I have gained over the years to help the school and community.

Did you go to St John’s when you were a child ?

Yes, a very long time ago. I was also baptised and confirmed at St John’s Church and was in the choir.

What is your favourite thing about our school ?

The fantastic atmosphere you experience the moment you walk through the door – there is such a tangible sense of community here.

Is there anything you would change about our school ?

As a new governor there is nothing that immediately springs to mind.  I just want to do what I can to help the school to continue to be a special place for both the children and those who work here.

What do you do when you’re not helping our School ?

I am the Head of the Strategic Engagement and Delivery Unit at the Department for International Trade. When I am not doing that I have a very energetic daughter who keeps me busy (when she is not sitting in the classroom at St John’s learning….).  I’m also a Deputy Church Warden at St Johns Church. Finally I like to visit SE Asia (Thailand in particular - where my wife comes from) but do not get the chance to go there as regularly as I used to.
