Governor - John Murphy

 John Murphy

Vice Chair

Foundation

Hello What’s your name?

John Murphy

What do you do on the Governing Body ?

I’m Vice Chair of the Governing body. I’m also a member of the Premises Sub-committee helping to Maintain and improve the school building and surrounding grounds. I also enjoy getting involved on a practical level.

Why did you become a Governor at St John’s ?

I have three children, two of which are now at secondary school, who have all enjoyed very happy times at St Johns. I wanted to contribute my time and skills to the school community.

Did you go to St John’s when you were a child ?

Yes, I have very fond memories of my time at St John’s School. I was baptised, confirmed and married at St John’s Church and was a choir boy for many years.

What is your favourite thing about our school ?

Collective Worship- I love it!

Is there anything you would change about our school ?

If the school were to change in the future I would want to ensure the ethos and cohesiveness of the school would stay the same and that St John’s remains a very special school for many years to come.

What do you do when you’re not helping our School ?

I run a small construction and building company.I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. My Number one hobby is sailing and being on the water, but I also like cars and motorbikes.
