End of EYFS (Reception) results

 
At the end of EYFS (Reception) children are assessed against the Early Learning Goals (ELG) in a number of areas across the curriculum. Children who achieve the ELG in all 12 areas are assessed as having a achieved Good Level of Development (GLD).

Average Scaled Scores

The expected standard for children to achieve in the KS2 assessments is a scaled score of 100. In 2016 the average scaled score for children at St. John’s was above the expected standard and above the national average.

Progress Measure

The DfE measured the progress children made from their end of KS1 assessments to the end of KS2

‘DfE Progress scores will be centred around 0, with most schools within the range of -5 to +5’.

  • A score of 0 means pupils in this school on average do about as well at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.

  • A positive score means pupils in this school on average do better at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.

  • A negative score means pupils in this school on average do worse at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.
